Step by step
Preparation
- 01Assemble the Kallax lying on its side following IKEA instructions, without nailing on the back panel.
- 02Measure each cubby — confirm 335 × 335 mm before cutting.
Cutting
- 03Cut half-round mouldings to 735 mm using a stop block for equal lengths.
- 04Cut plywood into two door panels and one top.
Assembly
- 05Glue half-round mouldings side by side onto the panels, working out from the centreline.
- 06Fit push-to-open hinges and mount the doors.
- 07Screw tapered legs to the base using mounting plates.
Finishing
- 08Sand lightly with 220 grit and apply two coats of hardwax oil.
- 09Install the wall anti-tip strap.
